About me

Being in the work industry was my biggest passion ever since I can remember. I wanted to work, I always had a passion to do more than just learn in school, I wanted to learn more, not only about the working world, but also about my own skills. Now that I am a student at the University of Salford, I want to keep learning and having fulfilling work experience. Throughout this process I have gained many assets that I now use in my every day life. I have become a strong and persevering individual who loves working around people and has no problem in handling difficult situations. Whilst studying, I started to look for work, in order to enhance all my skills. By applying myself to the Portuguese channel (Porto Canal), I was able to manage a group of people independently, organise scripts, and staff, and of course, always keeping the contestants 100% satisfied throughout the day. From this I gained time-management skills, leadership skills and teamwork. It made me understand the importance of perseverance and taking direct orders without question. By working in this environment I also develop group skills where I found I can work in a group and independently. In addition to this I also was trusted to serve food while carrying out all of my other responsibilities. I found this position challenging, although extremely gratifying as I was able to handle extremely busy times and distressful situations. Throughout my College, I always went beyond lessons and studying. I got involved in various sports, including, surf, ballet and kickboxing. I also got extremely interested in the filming club in school, which made me want to discover more with the industry, and whilst time-managing all of these activities, kept playing my violin and stay focused in my studies. All these experiences were further enhanced by my travels throughout Europe as well as Asia and America. This made me further understand the power of different cultures and beliefs and made me even more open minded and open to change and cultural empowerment. During my spare time in College, in addition to my studies and extra curricula activities, I also volunteered at QPI and CãoViver, which were two completely different yet both rewarding institutions. QPI was a centre for misfortunate children whose parents couldn’t afford the care that a child needs. In this institution I was required to be ever present, helping them with homework, extra-curricular activities, but also serving as a role model, helping them in their daily life and decisions. CãoViver, was a institution which helped abandoned dogs get a good life, and hopefully get adopted again. I went there every Sunday, where we took the dogs out for walks, bath them, brushed them, and cleaned their kennel, furthermore, I helped the institution to build a strong social media, so that it would be easier for people to know about these dogs. Both these experiences made me understand how grateful I am about my life and made me want to continue to strive. To conclude, I believe I have an extremely approachable personality and I am extremely eager to increase my knowledge. I am strong and confident and I know that I will try my hardest to go above and beyond what is asked of me.
